Drift is an immersive drawing installation project that explores the nature of memory—unanchored, elusive, and perpetually adrift within our unconscious. Those drawings transferred from intangible memories and experiences to tangible vestiges meet viewers to raise a question about how post generations understand and experience their historical moments from secondary sources such as documentaries, images, and/or stories. The delicate pen strokes represent how memories are so fragmented on paper, which is fragile but durable, and the materials such as charcoal and oil—both ephemeral but residual—symbolize the volatility of memory and its lingering presence over generations.
